Аннотация: Английский язык используется во многих профессиях. Но почему английский язык так популярен в тех или иных областях, в чем причина? Для того, чтобы понять данный факт необходимо знать историю английского языка и почему был выбран именно английский язык для некоторых профессий.

Abstract: English is using in many professions. But why English is so popular in these professions, what is the reason? For to understand it, it is necessary to know history of English language and why English was chosen for some professions.

English language is one of the more popular international language. This language had very difficult history, it was influenced by a great number of different language but like a result English became understandable for foreign people owing to its borrowings. Some languages influenced English grammar and like a result English grammar is more simple today that allow to study it without problems.
Everybody who wants to study foreign language should decide what type of language to study because there are the countries where for example the same English will not be comprehensible.
If to speak about English language, today it is not Britain but the USA spread English language and because of it we can hear today 2 types of English. The first this is Britain English and the Second this is American English. These two languages have some different things in the grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. But it is possible to understand that there are 2 types of English only if you have possibility to communicate in English with the Americans and with the Britishers. Today the USA influence very much the other countries and the world's politic but some centuries ago this role belonged to Britain.
The language and the development of the language it is very difficult and long process, it is not possible to understand the language without the history of the language and without the history of the country and of the nation.
It is necessary to know English if you want to take some profession. At the beginning there is a sense to enumerate these professions and then try to understand why these professions use English and not some other language.
If we began to speak about the professions where we can use English and only English, so we should began from the business and the trade, if of cause it is possible to speak about the business by such manner.
Touristic industry takes the second place, the next place this is the sphere of service (the trade, the restaurants etc). It is very interesting, by English is used also in some very specific areas, such like for example the radio exchange, the aviation, the navigation. A lot of manufacturers of the technique prefer to write the instructions in English. English it is also the main language of the computers and of IT industry.
For better to understand why English was chosen like the main language of intercultural communication, we can remember that the humanity all the time tried to find some language what will be understandable for every body. And in 21-st century English is the language like this. If to return in the ancients times, so we can see that during the centuries one or another language was popular ans was used like international language but then in some century the language lost this “place” and other language could possibility to take this place.
The story like this was with Arabic, Spanish, German, French. For example during the times of Roman Empire, Latin language was very popular, it is interesting that during the population of Latin language, also English language took a lot of words from Latin.
But every language, if also this language is the language of intercultural communication has its proper advantages and disadvantages, one language has very difficult grammar, the other has very difficult pronunciation, the next has very difficult writing.
The people tried also to invent new languages with simple grammar, pronunciation and writing. The history knows the examples of these languages, we can read about it for example in the book “Introduction into the linguistic” by Reformatskiy. What are the names of these languages: Esperanto, Volapuk. Today there are more 100 languages like this. But these languages are not popular because they have the different base, for example Esperanto was invented in the base of Latin language and Volapuk in the base of English and German. It is not convenient for the people from other countries where native language is from the other linguistic group. One of the reason why English was chosen like the language of intercultural communication, it is its facility in grammar and vocabulary.
English language was chosen like a language of the aviation owing to its easy grammar. English grammar and grammar construction of the word don't permit to make any mistake, you can't confuse the ending because English grammar doesn't use a lot of endings in the words. Like a result English words are more short.
Today it is necessary to know English if you want to work like a pilot, stewardess, dispatcher.
English, French and Spanish are the languages of radio communication and radio exchange, but Spanish and French have the system of ending and sometimes it is possible to confuse the sense of the words. English this is the other thing. It is not possible to confuse something.
The example of English using in the radio exchange.
“Mayday” is an emergency procedure word used internationally as a distress signal in voice procedure radio communications.
It is used to signal a life-threatening emergency primarily by aviators and mariners, but in some countries local organizations such as firefighters, police forces, and transportation organizations also use the term. The call is always given three times in a row ("Mayday Mayday Mayday") to prevent its being mistaken for some similar-sounding phrase under noisy conditions, and to distinguish an actual Mayday call from a message about a Mayday call.
The Mayday procedure word was originated in 1923, by radio officer at Airport in London, it was necessary to think of a word that would indicate distress and would easily be understood by all pilots and ground staff in an emergency. Since much of the traffic at the time was between London and Paris, it was proposed the word "Mayday" from the French "m'aider", a shortened version of "venez m'aider" (meaning "come and help me"). But French “m'aider” confused French speakers themselves, because in the case of the accident they used completely other expression. And only English equivalent was normal in such case.
Here we can see that the using of English allow to prevent any mistake, it is more simple, doesn't give any other association with the word. But it is necessary to make one precision, specific English language is more simple that reel English. For example it is possible to say some expressions and words without the article. Owing to it, it is possible to speak more quickly. It is very important in stress situation, for example in the aviation.
